Isn’t it quite interesting if a person could speak more than one language?
As we know, language is an important tool in communication. It is undeniable that mastering more than one language plays a big role in this kind of modern era where communication stands as a bridge for connecting one another in various aspect of life. We also realize that there are so many languages used by people around the world. A good understanding of another language contributes in succeeding the process of giving and receiving information or what we call as communication. Thus, people who have the ability to speak multiple languages would draw a great advantage in their life.
Speaking more than one language would open up a lot of job opportunities. It is widely known that competition to get a job is getting harder as time passes. Those who have an excellent skill and experience will have a bigger chance to get a job. It means that to compete with other people in getting a job we should have a good ability to speak more than one language; it is indispensable. This skill does not only give an opportunity to get a job easily but also allows the applicants to prove their ability in getting a job abroad. In addition, many companies ranging from diverse fields nowadays require the applicants to have an ability to speak more than one language. The applicants should be ready with the possibility to be placed in branch of the company around the world. That’s why it is essential to mention our skill of speaking a foreign language in a curriculum vitae when applying for a job. It shows that we are a perfect candidate to get the job when global market takes place in these days.
Having an ability to speak more than one language also helps much in getting a scholarship to study abroad. Pursuing a scholarship is not as easy as shooting fish in a barrel. There are many other scholars who want to take this amazing chance in their academic life. We cannot only rely on our good knowledge of the field of our study but we should master more than one language, especially the language of the country where we want to go to. Students who are proficient in several languages may easily pass the interview session. The interviewees might think that they are ready and well-prepared to go overseas. They do not need to worry about the language problem. Furthermore, the candidates would get along easily in the new country and the process of learning would not be interfered by the different language which is used.
It would be easy for us to make friends around the world if we could master some languages. The advanced technology makes us possible to connect with other people from other countries with different kind of media. Some socal media such as Twitter, Facebook, Skype, Blogger, Tumblr, and others ease us to communicate across land or sea in just one click. Making new friends is only a matter of time. Regarding this fact, the ability to speak more than one language is extremely important to overcome the different culture and language among us. Without having the ability to speak in their language, we might cause a missunderstanding with them. This missunderstanding may create amusing problems and threathen the relationship which we have built. Once more, it is apparent that having the ability to speak in their language is essential. The more we are able to speak a foreign language, the more chance we have to add some new friends.
To sum up, we can conclude that speaking more than one language helps a lot in getting a job, scholarship, and new friend. In other words, having the ability to speak more than one language would impact many advantages in our life.
